Taughannock Falls State Park is about 20 minutes north of Ithaca on the western shore of Cayuga Lake.  Its main feature is the 215 ft. tall Taughannock Falls, one of the tallest free standing waterfalls east of the Rocky Mountains.  The park has some nice hiking trails around the gorge as well as one that goes through the gorge to the falls.  You'll see quite a number of pictures of the falls in different seasons, it's one of my favorite subjects!  It seems to take on a different personality as the seasons change.
